According to a press release from his attorney, Hill has retained a legal team after that tense confrontation with Miami-Dade Police officers during a traffic stop back on Sept. 8.

Body camera video that has since gone viral on social media captured the tough police take down as Hill was pulled out of his car and detained over allegations of careless driving just hours before the Dolphins’ season opener against Jacksonville.

A 27-year veteran of the department who was involved in the incident, Officer Danny Torres, has been placed on administrative duty.

An employee profile released by the Miami-Dade Police Department showed Torres served as many as 50 days of suspension in six different incidents between 2014 and 2019.

The longest suspension was for 20 days. He also received four written reprimands.

“It is already clear that well before this incident, Miami-Dade County should have fired Officer Torres,” attorney Jeffrey Neiman said in Monday’s press release. “Instead, the County repeatedly returned Officer Torres to the street permitting him to use his police authority to terrorize people.”

Hill and his legal team are also demanding Congress pass the “George Floyd Justice in Policing Act,” which aims to increase accountability for law enforcement misconduct.

Officer placed on administrative duty after Tyreek Hill incident has varied history https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/officer-placed-on-administrative-duty-after-tyreek-hill-incident-has-varied-history/3417372/ 3417372 post 9872037 Miami-Dade Police https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/09/091024-tyreek-hill-miami-dade-police-bodycamera-video.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all The personnel file of a Miami-Dade Police officer who was taken off the streets after detaining Dolphins star Tyreek Hill shows a varied history.

An employee profile released by the Miami-Dade Police Department shows 27-year veteran Officer Danny Torres served as many as 50 days of suspension in six different incidents between 2014 and 2019.

The longest suspension was for 20 days. He also received four written reprimands.

Of the complaints he’s received, he was cleared of many, but eight were sustained in an internal investigation. The complaints included improper use of force and conduct unbecoming an officer, as well as improper use of his body camera.

“I can tell you there are police officers that go their whole careers and wont have as much as activity as this young man has,” said Craig McQueen, a retired City of Miami Police Chief.

One of the things that stood out to Mcqueen is that Torres has discourtesy complaints in his file that were substantiated.

“Discourtesy complaints are basically the officer’s communication skills … how they speak to people, how they interact with people,” he said.

Torres’ records also showed 13 instances of use of force, some of those resulted in injuries like bruising and cuts, but the report doesn’t say who was injured.

The report also does not give context or details for each disciplinary action.

The records also show Torres has been given nearly three dozen commendations from 1998 to 2023. The most recent was for “dedication to service” and “professionalism” in May of last year.

Torres remains on administrative duties pending the results of an internal affairs investigation.

Ignacio Alvarez, the attorney representing Torres, issued a statement earlier calling for his client’s immediate reinstatement while respecting the department’s call for an investigation. He said his client won’t make any comments until the investigation has been completed.

Hill did not mince words when detailing what action he thought should be taken against the officer.

“Gone. Gone. Gone. Gone. Gone. He’s gotta go, man,” Hill said.

After police encounter, Tyreek Hill has quiet night for Dolphins in loss to Bills https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/after-police-encounter-tyreek-hill-has-quiet-night-for-dolphins-in-loss-to-bills/3416218/ 3416218 post 9881277 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/09/GettyImages-2171643483.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Tyreek Hill had a quiet night in the Miami Dolphins blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Hill, the NFL’s leading receiver in 2023, had just three receptions for 24 yards in a 31-10 loss. It was the fewest yards he’s had since catching three passes for 23 yards against the New York Jets in the final game of the 2022 regular season. He didn’t have a game with fewer than 40 yards receiving in 2023.

Hill dominated national headlines all week after being pulled from his sports car by police officers during a traffic stop on his way to the stadium for the Dolphins’ season opener.

A verbal dispute Sunday between Hill and Miami-Dade police officers escalated quickly just hours before the Dolphins kicked off their season. Hill rolled up the window of his McLaren sports car after an officer told him to put it down, and it led to Hill being pulled out of the vehicle by his arm and head and forced face-first onto the ground. Officers handcuffed Hill and one put a knee in the middle of his back.

Hill was eventually released after receiving citations for careless driving and failing to wear his seat belt — the total fine is $309. Hours later, he caught an 80-yard touchdown pass that sparked the Dolphins’ comeback victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Police Department Director Stephanie Daniels put Officer Danny Torres on administrative duty, and an internal affairs investigation is underway. The department released the identity of Torres, a 27-year veteran of the department, on Tuesday.

Hill has since said he could have handled some parts of the initial interaction differently.

“I could have let down my window in that instant,” Hill said Wednesday. “But the thing about me is, I don’t want attention. I don’t want to be cameras-out, phones-on-you in that moment. But at the end of the day, I’m human. I’ve got to follow rules. I’ve got to do what everyone else would do.

“Now, does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not,” Hill continued. “But at the end of the day, I wish I could go back and do things a bit differently.”

Hill smiled and waved at cameras as he arrived ahead of Thursday’s game.

The eight-time Pro Bowl selection had a 10-yard reception and a 12-yard carry in the first half.

Hill and Dolphins look to rally together to beat Bills despite ‘shocking' week https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/hill-and-dolphins-look-to-rally-together-to-beat-bills-despite-shocking-week/3414934/ 3414934 post 9877928 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/09/GettyImages-2170989432.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 For Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins, this week is about balancing the perspective of life with the duties of playing pro football.

Hill has been at the center of a national debate on the use of excessive force by police after he was pulled from his sports car by Miami-Dade County police officers, pushed face-first onto a street and handcuffed during a traffic stop outside the Dolphins’ home stadium.

The altercation happened just a few hours before the Dolphins kicked off their season, but Hill later went out and caught an 80-yard touchdown that helped the Dolphins rally past Jacksonville, celebrating the score by mimicking being handcuffed.

He and the Dolphins will need to rally again, with a Buffalo Bills team that has beaten them in 13 of their past 15 meetings coming to town.

Hill said he will use Thursday night’s AFC East rivalry game as therapy from the “shell-shocking” events that happened.

“(Football) is how I get away from a lot of stuff,” he said. “This is how I separate myself from past traumas in my life. I’m not gonna mix the two.”

Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa acknowledged the importance of the game while not wanting the team to lose perspective.

“I think when we start to brush that away and think that this football thing is the most important thing to us when — this isn’t just something that Tyreek had gone through, this is something that people in general go through. That’s a life thing.” Tagovailoa said.

The Bills haven’t had much trouble against their rivals in recent years. Buffalo has averaged 31.7 points against Miami since coach Sean McDermott’s first season at the helm in 2017.

Quarterback Josh Allen has been selected as the AFC Player of the Week five times after facing the Dolphins. He’s 11-2 against Miami with 41 touchdowns.

“We just try and do our thing,” McDermott said. “There’s teams we’ve had success against. There’s teams we haven’t. And we just try to take them one at a time. Those games won’t affect this game at all.”

Allen’s health will be a big factor in continuing the Bills trend of success in Miami.

He hurt his non-throwing left hand when he appeared to land on it after hurdling Cardinals safety Budda Baker in the opener while scoring on a 6-yard touchdown. Allen was examined by the team’s medical staff on the sideline and had his hand heavily wrapped before returning to finish the game.

Allen spent this week practicing with a glove to protect it. He said the hand felt fine, but when asked if there’s any discomfort, he answered: “It’s as comfortable as we can make it.”

He said he occasionally wore a glove in cold weather games, and hasn’t determined if he’ll wear it Thursday.

“I felt like I threw it well today and was able to do all the things, ” Allen said. “So I’m ready to go.”

Praising Poyer

McDermott and Allen praised former Bills safety Jordan Poyer, who was cut in March after seven seasons in Buffalo, and signed with Miami. Poyer and Micah Hyde, who is unsigned and considering retirement, formed Buffalo’s starting safety tandem for seven consecutive years.

McDermott recalled how Poyer — not cleared to fly because of a punctured lung but cleared to play — spent a two-day trip being driven to Kansas City for a game two years ago. “I can’t say enough good things about Jordan, I love him,” McDermott said.

“I got a lot of love for him, so it’s going to be fun,” Allen said. “There’s going to be some friendly jabs and hopefully I just don’t let him tackle me or the other word — I won’t even say it,” he added, referring to the possibility of getting sacked.

Injured running backs

Miami’s running backs are banged up already. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel ruled out Raheem Mostert on Wednesday because of a chest injury. McDaniel said Mostert sustained the injury early in Sunday’s game but tried to play through it. He finished with six carries for 9 yards and two receptions for 10 yards.

“His injury, not many people play with,” McDaniel said.

Achane, who had 100 all-purpose yards and a touchdown, is nursing an ankle injury and will likely be a gametime decision.

Minor procedure

Hill can be heard in the body camera footage released Monday evening yelling repeatedly that he’d just had surgery on his knee as officers forced him to the ground.

The receiver said Wednesday he had a minor stem cell procedure on his knee this offseason in Antigua. McDaniel called it a procedure that Hill “makes sure that he takes care of.”

“Just some stem cells injected into my body. That’s it. A lot of people don’t know that because I just be on the low with it, but yeah.” Hill said.

Tyreek Hill says ‘I could have been better' during police encounter but wants cop fired https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/nfl/tyreek-hill-says-i-could-have-been-better-during-police-encounter-but-wants-cop-fired/3414807/ 3414807 post 9875358 NBC6, Miami-Dade Police https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/09/091124-tyreek-hill-video.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Dolphins star Tyreek Hill said he “could have been better” during Sunday’s encounter with Miami-Dade Police that saw him pulled out of his car and handcuffed outside Hard Rock Stadium but said he wants the officer who was placed on administrative duties fired.

Hill spoke with reporters Wednesday, saying said he accepts some responsibility in the incident.

“I have family members who are cops, we’ve had conversations yes, I will say, I could have been better, I could have let down my window in that instant,” Hill said. “I don’t want attention, I don’t want to be cameras out, phones on you in that moment but at the end of the day I’m human, I gotta follow rules, I gotta do what everyone else would do. Now, does that give them the right to literally beat the dog out of me? Absolutely not, but at the end of the day I wish I could go back and do things a bit differently.”

Police bodycamera footage released Monday showed an officer pulled Hill out of his sports car by his arm and forced him face-first to the ground after Hill put up the window of his car during a traffic stop before Sunday’s game.

Hill was handcuffed and detained but released after he received citations for careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt.

Hill said Wednesday he was watching “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” when the bodycamera footage was released on Monday, and he stepped outside the theater to watch it.

One of the cops involved in the incident, Officer Danny Torres, a 27-year veteran of the department, remains on administrative duties while an internal affairs investigation is completed, Miami-Dade Police said Tuesday.

Hill said Wednesday that he should be fired, particularly for the way teammate Calais Campbell was treated. Campbell, who stopped at the scene to offer support, was also placed in handcuffs.

“He gotta go man because in that instance right there, not only did he treat me bad, he also treated my teammates with disrespect, he had some crazy words toward them and they didn’t even do nothing, what did they do to you? They were just walking on the sidewalk,” Hill said. “He gotta go. It’s not too many times that Cheetah say people gotta go but.”

Hill also said things might have gone differently for someone who isn’t in the NFL.

“I feel like I handled myself well in that situation but obviously like I said I could do better but it’s shellshocking man, it’s really crazy to know that you have officers in this world who would literally do that with bodycams on, it’s sad, it’s really sad,” he said. “What would they do if they didn’t have bodycams, which is even crazier. It’s a lot to unpack, there’s a lot we can learn.”

Hill said he had to quickly get over the incident as the Dolphins took on the Jacksonville Jaguars and he did, catching seven passes for 130 yards including an 80-yard touchdown as the Dolphins won 20-17.

“I’m unfazed man, I’m one of those guys, I’m unfazed by it cause I’m not the only one who goes through that. Where I’m from you typically see that a lot and you don’t hear about it because not everybody has the same resources as Tyreek Hill,” he said. “That’s why I was able to go out and play the way I did cause I’m numb to it, it’s kind of expected.”

Hill said he’s have to remain unfazed as the Dolphins play the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night.

“I’m not gonna take a knee, I’m not gonna ask to defund the police, I’m not gonna protest, I’m not gonna do any of that when it comes to being inside of this football because this is my therapy, football is my therapy, this is how I get away from a lot of stuff, this is how I separate myself from past traumas in my life,” he said. “I don’t think we should use this as a moment to separate people, or divide people, or you know make it a battle or anything like that. I still love cops, I want to be a cop, I’ve been standing on the table for the cops but at the end of the day right now what I’m focused on is my job, to play football.”

Bodycam shows officers detain and handcuff Tyreek Hill during traffic stop https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/bodycam-tyreek-hill-police-traffic-stop/3412891/ 3412891 post 9869762 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/09/Police-release-bodycam-video-of-Tyreek-Hill-traffic-stop.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Police body camera footage was released Monday of the moments Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained and handcuffed by Miami-Dade Police officers during a traffic stop near the team’s stadium.

Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie V. Daniels said in a statement that they released the bodycam footage outside of standard protocol “in our commitment to transparency and maintaining public trust” and “to reinforce the Department’s commitment to keeping the public informed.”

The department released footage – a combined 105 minutes – from six bodyworn cameras.

Footage from one vantage point shows when officers pulled over Hill’s McLaren near Hard Rock Stadium, going 65 in a 40 mph zone.

“Don’t knock on my window like that, man,” Hill said after an officer approached his window and knocked.

After some back-and-forth, Hill said, “Just give me my ticket so I can go, I’m finna be late. So do what you gotta do.”

The traffic stop escalated when Hill gave officers his license and rolled his window back up.

“One of the officers then knocked on Mr. Hill’s driver-side window and advised Mr. Hill to keep his window rolled down otherwise he was going to get him out of the car,” said Julius B. Collins, Hill’s attorney. He added that Hill rolled his window down each time he was asked to.

“As a matter of fact, get out of the car,” an officer was seen telling Hill through his window, which was opened just a crack.

Another threatened to break his window.

“Get out of the car right now, we’re not playing this game,” the officer said.

When Hill opened the door, an officer pulled him out of the car and they forced him down to the ground, handcuffing him. Hill was on the phone with his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, telling him he’s getting arrested.

“We tell you to do something, you do it,” an officer said.

“I’m getting up,” Hill said while in handcuffs and face down. “… I’m getting up, bruh, chill.”

“Too late,” the officer replied.

“Aight, take me to jail, bruh. Do what you gotta do,” Hill said.

“We are, we will,” the officer said.

As they brought Hill to the curb, they tried to get him to sit.

“Hold on bruh, I just had surgery on my knee,” Hill said.

Another officer went over, put his arm around him from the back and forced him down.

“I just had surgery on my knee! I just had surgery on my knee!” Hill screamed. “Chill!”

“What a coincidence, you should have had surgery on your ear when we told you to put your window down,” an officer said.

At one point, Hill’s teammates approached them and officers warned them off. Defensive tackle Calais Campbell ended up in handcuffs for not leaving the scene. Both Hill and Campbell were later released.

Hill was stopped for speeding and reckless driving, officers were heard saying in the bodycam. He was issued two traffic citations, one for careless driving and the other for not wearing a seatbelt.

Hill himself made a brief statement Monday night on his X account: “Let’s make a change.”

The Dolphins said in a statement Monday night that they were “saddened and angered” by officers’ conduct toward the players.

“While we commend MDPD for taking the right and necessary action to quickly release this footage, we also urge them to take equally swift and strong action against the officers who engaged in such despicable behavior,” the team said in a statement on X.

Miami-Dade officer placed on administrative duties after detaining Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: MDPD https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/miami-dade-officer-placed-on-administrative-duties-after-detaining-tyreek-hill-ahead-of-dolphins-season-opener/3411905/ 3411905 post 9867760 @DylanVega1, Only in Dade https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/09/090924-tyreek-hill-detained-video-miami-dade-police.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all The Miami-Dade Police Department has opened an Internal Affairs investigation after Dolphins star Tyreek Hill was detained by officers near Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning, the department’s director stated.

Hill was detained during a traffic stop just hours before the Miami Dolphins’ Week 1 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

One of the officers involved was placed on administrative duties as the investigation continues, according to MDPD Director Stephanie V. Daniels.

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told NBC6 that Hill received a ticket for reckless driving while he was going into the stadium.

“The most upsetting part is the way that he was treated. Tyreek is not a guy that should be at his own stadium in handcuffs,” Rosenhaus said. “We’re going to look into it. This isn’t over on our end.”

The NFL’s leading wide receiver from last season was released and later helped the Dolphins beat the Jaguars 20-17.

His 80-yard touchdown catch sparked Miami’s sluggish offense in the third quarter and got the Dolphins within 17-14.

After the score, Hill placed his hands behind his back as if to simulate being handcuffed, hours after he was placed facedown and handcuffed during the traffic stop with MDPD officers.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared a video of the incident, with Hill being handcuffed on the ground while surrounded by several officers.

The Dolphins said that several teammates saw the incident and stopped to support Hill.

“Very upsetting just to see Tyreek detained by the police like that — in handcuffs, seemed really excessive,” Rosenhaus added.

Hill reacted to the incident during a post-game news conference, saying he was still trying to process what happened earlier in the day.

“I’ve got a lot of respect for cops, but obviously everybody has bad apples in every situation,” Hill said. “I want to be able to use this platform to figure a way to flip this and make it a positive on both ends — on my end and then also Miami-Dade.”

He also expressed his gratitude for his teammates who showed up.

“I’m just glad that my teammates were there to support me in that situation because I felt alone,” the wide receiver added. “It made me realize that we have a good team this year, for them to put their life on the line.”

Defensive linemen Calais Campbell also said after the game that he too was handcuffed, and that police cited him for disobeying an officer’s order, NBC Sports reported. Campbell told reporters that he approached the scene after spotting Hill, in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. Instead, police handcuffed Campbell as well.

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava called the officer’s actions “troubling” in a statement released Sunday afternoon.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Hill was cited for reckless driving. He then got into a verbal altercation with the police, according to Darlington, and the officer then chose to handcuff Hill.

The 30-year-old wide receiver is entering his third season with the Dolphins after signing a restructured contract with $65 million guaranteed last month.

‘This isn't over': Tyreek Hill's agent reacts to Dolphins star being detained near Hard Rock Stadium ahead of Week 1 game https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/tyreek-hills-agent-reacts-to-dolphins-star-being-detained-near-hard-rock-stadium-ahead-of-week-1-game/3411787/ 3411787 post 8440752 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/05/Tyreek-Hill-USATSI19795640-e1690450908263.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was detained by police near Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday morning ahead of the Miami Dolphins’ Week 1 game.

His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told NBC6 that Hill received a ticket for reckless driving while he was going into the stadium.

“The most upsetting part is the way that he was treated. Tyreek is not a guy that should be at his own stadium in handcuffs,” Rosenhaus said. “We’re going to look into it. This isn’t over on our end.”

The NFL’s leading wide receiver from last season has since been released and will be available for the game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team confirmed in a statement. The Dolphins said that several teammates saw the incident and stopped to support Hill.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared a video of the incident, with Hill being handcuffed on the ground while surrounded by several officers.

“Very upsetting just to see Tyreek detained by the police like that — in handcuffs, seemed really excessive,” Rosenhaus added.

ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Hill was cited for reckless driving. He then got into a verbal altercation with the police, according to Darlington, and the officer then chose to handcuff Hill.

The Director of Miami-Dade Police said an Internal Affairs investigation was opened following the incident and that one of the officers involved was placed on administrative duties in the meantime.

Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill agrees to restructured contract with $65 million guaranteed https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/dolphins-receiver-tyreek-hill-agrees-to-restructured-contract-with-65-million-guaranteed/3381205/ 3381205 post 9763812 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/08/GettyImages-2164181879.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Tyreek Hill is the latest wide receiver to get more money.

The five-time All-Pro and the Miami Dolphins agreed to a restructured contract Saturday worth $90 million with $65 million guaranteed, his agent told The Associated Press.

The deal negotiated by Drew and Jason Rosenhaus raises Hill’s four-year total of fully guaranteed money to $106.5 million. It’s the most guaranteed money added to a contract without adding extra years.

Hill did not participate in Saturday’s team workout or speak with reporters but posted “I’m here to stay” on his social media platform.

The 30-year-old Hill caught 119 passes for a league-leading 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. Hill has reached 1,700 receiving yards in the first two seasons since Miami acquired him from the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Friday, Hill was selected the league’s best player in a vote by active players in the NFL Network’s annual breakdown. Hill is the first receiver voted as top player in the 14-year survey.

“I may be biased but it’s such an honor to having all your peers recognize what type of player you are,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said. “There are a lot of really good players so it’s a tremendous honor but it’s also not a surprise.”

The Dolphins restructured Hill’s contract a week after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa agreed to a four-year extension that will pay him an average of $53 million annually beginning next year.

Justin Jefferson ($140 million), A.J. Brown ($96 million), Amon-Ra St. Brown ($120 million) and Jaylen Waddle ($84.75 million) also received mega-contracts this year.

Tyreek Hill sued by social media influencer who claims Dolphins star broke her leg https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/tyreek-hill-sued-by-social-media-influencer-who-claims-dolphins-star-broke-her-leg/3245052/ 3245052 post 9042261 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/11/GettyImages-1765360259.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Tyreek Hill is facing a new lawsuit after a social media influencer claims the Miami Dolphins wide receiver intentionally broke her leg at his home last year.

The lawsuit was filed in Broward County last week by Sophie Hall, an influencer and model with more than 2.1 million followers on Instagram.

The suit claims Hill had been knocked backwards by Hall during a football lesson and he “became enraged, and forcefully and purposefully shoved Ms. Hall, severely fracturing her leg, requiring surgery with orthopedic reconstruction and hardware implantation.”

The incident happened after Hall had purchased a ticket for her son to attend the “Tyreek Hill Football Camp” at Boca Raton High School in June of 2023.

After the purchase, Hill sent Hall a message on Instagram, telling her he wanted to “meet up and get to know her,” the lawsuit said.

Hill then flirted with her in messages and told her he has been known to be a “good stepdad,” and before the camp, Hill told Hall to “come a day early so me and mom can hang” and gave her his phone number, the suit said.

After the camp, Hill invited Hall to come back to his house in Southwest Ranches, and later bought flight and travel arrangements for Hall to visit, and she arrived about 11 days after the camp, the suit said.

At his home, Hill was working with his trainer and Hall was watching when he invited her to participate in offensive line drills with him, the suit said.

Hall followed his instructions and made contact with Hill, pushing him backwards and “garnering laughter” from Hill’s mother, sister, friend and trainer, the suit said.

Hill’s attitude changed and he became angry, and during another play Hill “charged into her violently and with great force, resulting in significant and serious injuries,” the suit said.

Hall was unable to get up or walk around and Hill “downplayed” her injury, telling her to rest and ice her leg, the suit said.

Hill allowed Hall to stay at his home a couple days while Hill arranged her travel back home.

When Hall visited a doctor after her return home, it was discovered she had a right leg fracture requiring surgery with metal implants, the suit said.

An attorney for Hill was reached by NBC6 but declined to comment on the lawsuit.

Hill, 29, was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Dolphins in 2022 and signed a four-year contract extension worth a reported $120 million.

The star wide receiver’s home in Southwest Ranches caught fire back in January after officials said a child had been playing with a lighter.

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill denies divorce reports despite petition filed in Broward https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/tyreek-hill-denies-divorce-reports-despite-petition-filed-in-broward-county/3214076/ 3214076 post 9240476 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/01/GettyImages-1931186848-1.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill denied reports that he has filed for divorce from his wife of two months, despite what Broward County court records show.

A petition for dissolution of marriage was apparently filed by Hill Monday morning to divorce wife Keeta Vaccaro, Broward court records showed.

“The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” the filing states.

But after news of the divorce filing broke Tuesday, Hill refuted the news in social media posts.

“I get on Twitter and see bs,” Hill posted on the platform, now known as X.

He also reacted to a news outlet’s post about the divorce filing.

Hill married Vaccaro back in November, during the Miami Dolphins’ bye-week after playing the Kansas City Chiefs in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Miami Dolphins ended their season recently after losing to Hill’s former team, the Chiefs, in the AFC Wild Card round, where Hill was the lone scorer for Miami.

Earlier this month, Hill’s Southwest Ranches caught on fire after officials said a child was playing with a lighter in one of the bedrooms on the second floor.

Tyreek Hill on devastating house fire: ‘We find a way to bounce back' https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/miami-dolphins-tyreek-hill-speaks-out-house-fire/3204101/ 3204101 post 9189255 NBC6, Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/01/010424-Tyreek-Hill-dolphins-southwest-ranches-mansion-fire-copy.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Ahead of the Miami Dolphins-Kansas City Chiefs wild-card playoff game, wide receiver Tyreek Hill opened up Thursday about dealing with the aftermath of a fire at his South Florida mansion.

“My wife’s good. Mom is good. And my nephews are good. So that’s all that matters, man,” Hill told reporters.

The fire accidentally broke out Jan. 3 at his Southwest Ranches mansion due to a child playing with a lighter, officials said.

“Right now, man, it’s just a transition … I mean, but that’s what players do. Like we find a way to bounce back,” Hill said. “And that’s what life is — ups and downs, you have things happen, and you got to find a way to like adjust to adversity. So we just had like a slight adversity, and we’re gonna find a way to face it. And that’s what we’re doing now.”

Crews got the fire under control in about two hours. The blaze was limited to the attic and roof but there was smoke damage in much of the house.

Hill was at practice when he got the news. Several media reports state the fire caused $2.3 million in damage to the nearly $7 million home.

“There are crazier things in the world going on,” Hill said. “I’m not the only person in the world having a bad day. There are other people having bad days, you know. God has blessed me with great things and I have a great support system with teammates and family and stuff like that, and I just always try to look at the positive side of things.”

Hill said he doesn’t know when he’ll be back at the house, but in the meantime, he and his family are staying and enjoying their time on the beach.

“Although it sucks to see you know, rooms you know destroyed and everything that you work for destroyed, it sucks, but my main thing was health,” Hill said. “Making sure that my kids are alright, and yeah, man this gives me and my wife a chance to get closer.”

Fire at Dolphins star Tyreek Hill's mansion started by child playing with lighter: Officials https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/fire-at-dolphins-star-tyreek-hills-mansion-started-by-child-playing-with-lighter-officials/3197287/ 3197287 post 9189255 NBC6, Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/01/010424-Tyreek-Hill-dolphins-southwest-ranches-mansion-fire-copy.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill plans to take a stand against police misconduct nationwide following the incident that had him handcuffed on the ground outside Hard Rock Stadium earlier this month.

According to property records, Hill bought the mansion for $6.9 million back in May 2022. The property is located in a gated community of Southwest Ranches, a suburban town 15 miles southwest of Fort Lauderdale and about 22 miles northwest of Miami.

The 9,300-square-foot European-inspired-styled home features seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms and boasts stellar amenities, including a game room, recording studio, movie room and a massive pool.

A video posted on Hill’s YouTube channel in June 2022 shows him giving a tour of the property, showing off the mini golf course, bounce house and a reportedly NBA regulation basketball court.

“This house right here is definitely one of best I’ve ever stayed in in my life and probably one of the best I’ve seen,” Hill said.

The cause of Wednesday’s fire was under investigation. Hill’s family was inside the house but was safe and uninjured.

Fire officials said the blaze was contained to a room but there was smoke and water damage throughout the house.

Firefighters battle blaze at Dolphins star Tyreek Hill's home in Southwest Ranches https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/firefighters-battle-blaze-at-dolphins-star-tyreek-hills-home-in-southwest-ranches/3196499/ 3196499 post 9187259 NBC6 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2024/01/010324-Tyreek-hill-Southwest-ranches-mansion-fire-dolphins-star.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Firefighters battled a massive fire at the South Florida home of Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out shortly before 2 p.m. at the home in the 16000 block of Berkshire Court in a gated community in Southwest Ranches.

Aerial footage from Chopper 6 showed heavy smoke coming from the mansion as crews poured water onto it and firefighters cut holes into sections of the roof.

A large amount of firefighters and police from multiple nearby agencies responded to the scene including Davie Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.

Davie Fire Rescue’s Bob Taylor said the fire was limited to the attic and roof but said there was smoke damage in much of the house. It was too early to determine the cause of the fire, Taylor said.

Taylor said there were no injuries reported.

Hill, the Dolphins’ star wide receiver, was at practice with the team Wednesday and not at the home when it broke out.

A Dolphins spokesperson said Hill had left practice and said everyone who was in the home at the time was safe.

Footage showed Hill, wearing a white T-shirt, dark sweatpants and a boot on his left foot, arriving back at the home and hugging family members.

Tyreek Hill arrives to his Southwest Ranches mansion after a fire broke out on Jan. 3, 2024.

The fire appeared to be extinguished by around 3 p.m., though a large hole could be seen on one portion of the roof.

Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said it was unknown whether the family could stay in the home Wednesday night but said Hill was thankful no one was injured.

“It’s very difficult for anyone to have their home catch on fire, but Tyreek and his family are handling it with much poise as you can hope, he was grateful to the firefighters who saved his home,” Rosenhaus said.

Property records showed Hill purchased the mansion in 2022 for $6.9 million.

The 9,300-square-foot home features seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a home theater, a full-size basketball court, a massive pool and two guest houses.

Hill, 29, was traded from the Kansas City Chiefs to the Dolphins in 2022 and signed a four-year contract extension worth a reported $120 million.

A Dolphins injury report released Wednesday ahead of the team’s Sunday night matchup against the Buffalo Bills lists Hill with an ankle injury.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa told reporters he learned of the fire after practice and after Hill had left to go home.

“The main thing is his family is safe, his loved ones are good, he’s good as well,” Tagovailoa said. “I’m just glad that a lot of his family members are safe…We’re thinking of them, hoping that everyone is good.”

Tyreek Hill could play against the Dallas Cowboys, McDaniel confirms https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/tyreek-hill-could-play-against-the-dallas-cowboys-mcdaniel-confirms/3186968/ 3186968 post 8238932 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/05/tyreek-hill-running.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 After a shutout victory over the New York Jets on Sunday, Mike McDaniel confirmed Tyreek Hill could be back on the field for the Miami Dolphins’ Christmas Eve game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Hill is famously closing in on the 2,000-yard mark for receiving yards this season with 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns so far.

“Currently, to me, if you are working in a player out before the game, inherently they’re close. You know, if you’re if you are taking it to the game day and putting them through a workout for me, that that is close enough that you couldn’t rule it out,” McDaniel said in his day-after-the-game press conference.

“So, you know, as far as how it progresses during the week, we’ll take that a day at a time.”

Hill leads the NFL in both receiving yards and receiving touchdowns this season and has helped the Dolphins to the first place in the AFC East.

The Miami Dolphins takes on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday for their Christmas Eve game with a chance to clinch the AFC East title, if their division rivals the Buffalo Bills lose to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Cowboys, however, could prove a difficult matchup as they’ve already secured their playoff spot and are reeling from a tough loss against the Bills last week.

Tyreek Hill sidelined with ankle injury for most of Dolphins' 28-27 loss to Titans https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/tyreek-hill-sidelined-with-ankle-injury-for-most-of-dolphins-28-27-loss-to-titans/3181716/ 3181716 post 8247406 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/05/usa-tyreek-hill-10.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Tyreek Hill sat out a big portion of Miami’s 28-27 loss to the Tennessee Titans Monday night after he landed awkwardly on his ankle while being tackled in the first quarter.

The star Dolphins receiver returned late in the third quarter as fans chanted “MVP!” but was in and out of the game from there and finished with 61 yards receiving. Hill entered the game as the NFL’s leader in receiving yards with 1,481 and was on pace for the first 2,000-yard receiving season in league history.

Hill said after the game that he was in a lot of pain and could not cut and change directions like he normally would.

“When it happened, my first reaction was ‘My ankle gone.’” Hill said. “Then my adrenaline kicked in, and I ran off the field. Then I sat for a while and it got stiff.”

Hill got hurt when he was tackled on a catch that went for a 6-yard loss. He went down briefly and grabbed at his left leg. He began limping off the field, then ran off. Hill stood on the sideline with his helmet in his hand as the second quarter started and did not return until there were about six minutes left in the third quarter.

“I just made up my mind that it’s gonna hurt, it’s gonna suck tonight and tomorrow morning, but I just went back in the game,” Hill said.

Hill came in and immediately caught passes of 23 and 25 yards to set up Jason Sanders’ 31-yard field goal that tied it at 13 at the beginning of the fourth, but he wasn’t on the field much as the Dolphins tried to rally in the closing minutes after blowing a late 14-point lead.

Miami’s offense was out of sync for much of the game, but coach Mike McDaniel didn’t want to use the excuse of not having their leading receiver.

“There’s a good amount of offense that goes through him,” McDaniel said. “It wasn’t the reason for the lack of first half or really first three-quarter points. I think there were just critical times that we would be off a hair on first or second down and you’re put in a third down situation, and our protection wasn’t exactly what maybe we’d be used to on a play or two.

“Obviously a player of Tyreek’s caliber, it hurts when he’s not in. However, I think there was plenty of offense to be had and we’ve got a lot of guys that I trust to do that.”

The Dolphins were 2 of 5 in the red zone and didn’t score a touchdown on offense until Raheem Mostert’s 3-yard rush in the fourth. They did have 158 yards rushing.

“I think what they wanted game plan-wise was to put a shell over our team, forcing us to run the ball, forcing us to beat them that way,” said quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. “But when you have someone like Tyreek go down, it does make it tough, but when you also have a couple of your key o-linemen go down, as well, it does hurt the guys up front and sort of the way we operate.”

Tagovailoa faced more pressure than usual with the Dolphins missing three starters on their offensive line. Left tackle Terron Armstead (knee/ankle) and right guard Rob Hunt (hamstring) did not play, and center Connor Williams injured his knee in the first quarter and did not return.

Tagovailoa was sacked five times, including on fourth down on the final play of the game.

NFL suspends videographer involved in the Tyreek Hill backflip video https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/nfl/nfl-suspends-videographer-involved-in-the-tyreek-hill-backflip-video/3171653/ 3171653 post 8989802 Rich Storry/Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/10/231015-tyreek-hill-getty.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 The videographer involved in the viral Tyreek Hill backflip celebration has been suspended, the NFL confirmed.

Hill celebrated in the end zone after scoring a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers back in October 15 by grabbing Kevin Fitzgibbons’ phone and recording himself performing a backflip.

Hill was flagged for using a prop and the Dolphins’ were penalized 15-yards on the extra-point.

Shortly after, the video was posted in the official NFL UK social media account before being promptly deleted.

The videographer, Kevin Fitzgibbons also known as KFitz, posted a video on X explaining the situation, that he was directly employed by the NFL and that he had been suspended.

In a statement sent to NBC6, the NFL confirmed the suspension.

“We can confirm that the league pulled his gameday credentials for the remainder of this season. He could work for the league on other projects this year and beyond,” said Tim Schlittner, the Communications Director for the NFL.

Hill also had a cheeky dig at the suspension.

Despite the suspension, the NFL did not fine Hill for his stunt, even though, other players have been fined for using props, like Chad Ochocinco several times throughout his career and Joe Horn’s cellphone celebration back in 2003.

The speedy wide receiver caught a short pass from Tua Tagovailoa, avoided a tackle attempt by Jordan Whitehead and zipped into the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown to give Miami a 10-0 lead with 8:21 left in the second quarter.

Hill took off his helmet and looked into the MetLife Stadium stands, found wife Keeta Vaccaro and blew her a kiss before tossing her the football. The two were married during the Dolphins’ bye week two weeks ago.

Hill’s touchdown catch was his 10th of the season, making him the first Dolphins player since Mike Wallace in 2014 to have double-digit TD receptions.

It turned out that wasn’t the only highlight for the Dolphins in the first half.

After D.J. Reed intercepted Tagovailoa — who earlier had an INT returned for a touchdown by Brandin Echols — to give the Jets the ball at their 49 with 2 seconds left, New York opted for a Hail Mary try.

And it backfired. Badly.

Tim Boyle’s throw to the end zone was picked off by Jevon Holland, who took off down the field and then weaved his way past some would-be Jets tackles — including by Boyle — and took it in untouched for a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown to end the first half and put the Dolphins up 17-6.

Tyreek Hill tells the Dolphins' defense to ‘just find Kelce' to stop the Chiefs in Germany https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/tyreek-hill-tells-the-dolphins-defense-to-just-find-kelce-to-stop-the-chiefs-in-germany/3149432/ 3149432 post 9044370 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/11/Video-13.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has offered advice to the Miami defense in preparation for Sunday’s game against his former team: “Just find Kelce.”

Hill described Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as “the energy of that team” who has a knack of finding space when Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes is scrambling.

“What I’ve been telling the guys to do is just find Kelce,” Hill said Thursday after practice. “If you allow Kelce to get open, he’s like the energy of that team, although Pat is like all-world. But if he finds Kelce and Kelce just catches a 2-yard pass, he just somehow finds energy in that and gets that team going.”

In his six seasons in Kansas City, Hill said, the Chiefs’ receivers were well-coached about what to do when Mahomes starts moving.

“They got a whole PowerPoint on it and everything,” said Hill, now in his second season in Miami. “It’s crazy, it’s ridiculous. It’s like, ‘When Pat goes this way, you guys need to be doing this, that, that.’”

Don’t ask him about Kelce and Taylor Swift, though.

A day after fellow wide receiver Jaylen Waddle described himself as a “Swiftie,” Hill wasn’t going there.

“I’m not getting into that, bro. That’s a dangerous crew,” he joked when asked if he’s also a fan.

With 1,014 yards receiving, Hill is the first player in 52 years to reach the 1,000-yard mark in the first eight games of the season.

Hill said he’d prefer to face his former team at Arrowhead Stadium — the Chiefs are the “home” team on Sunday at Deutsche Bank Park. But he also sees the Germany game as an opportunity.

“We get a chance to become global stars. This is a chance to grow our own personal brands, too,” he said.

There will be some good-natured trash talk, of course.

“I’m excited to see Pat, Kelce, things like that,” Hill said. “It’s going to be one of those things like backyard football with your brothers.”

Hill deflected talk of an MVP-caliber season, suggesting Tua Tagovailoa would be his choice as the “player on our team who is better than me and means more to the team.”

Playing against Mahomes means defending not only the play called in the huddle but also “the play that he creates after the first one breaks down,” Dolphins defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said.

INJURY UPDATES

The Dolphins added WR Braxton Berrios (hamstring) and DB Justin Bethel (foot) to their injury report. They were limited in practice. RB Raheem Mostert (ankle), whose mother was born in Germany, and TE Durham Smythe (ankle) also were limited at practice. Mostert said he’s “ready to go.” Smythe said he’s progressing. The Dolphins hope to have cornerbacks Xavien Howard (groin) and Jalen Ramsey (knee) together on the field together for the first time this season. Ramsey made his debut last week. Howard has missed the past two games. Both were limited in practice for the second straight day.

Players to watch and more as high-scoring Dolphins prepare to face Chiefs in Germany https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/players-to-watch-and-more-as-high-scoring-dolphins-prepare-to-face-chiefs-in-germany/3149523/ 3149523 post 9042628 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/11/110223-dolphins-germany-tua-tagovailova-tyreek-hill.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 The Chiefs and Dolphins are preparing to meet on Sunday in Frankfurt, Germany, in a matchup of two 6-2 teams.

It will be the first time Kansas City is facing Miami wide receiver Tyreek Hill since it traded him early last year.

Hill has become a focal point of a Dolphins offense that leads the NFL in rushing, passing, total offense and scoring. Hill was named AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.

Kansas City will try to stop him with the league’s second-ranked pass defense.

The game is being played at Deutsche Bank Park at 9 a.m. Sunday and can be seen on NBC6 in South Florida.

DOLPHINS PLAYER TO WATCH

Hill was drafted by the Chiefs in 2016, when few other teams were willing to give him a chance after off-the-field problems in college. He made the Pro Bowl all six years in Kansas City, along with three All-Pro teams, while setting a slew of franchise records.

Now, he’s piling up yards at a record-setting pace in Miami after the Chiefs traded him early last year for a package of draft picks rather than give him an expensive long-term contract.

CHIEFS PLAYER TO WATCH

QB Patrick Mahomes was battling the flu last week in Denver and wound up having one of the worst games of his career. He was 24 of 38 for 241 yards with no touchdowns and two picks, giving him a quarterback rating of 59.2 — the second worst of his career — as the Chiefs lost to the Broncos.

KEY MATCHUP

The Dolphins defense against TE Travis Kelce, who has led the Chiefs in receiving each of the past seven games. He has at least one catch in 151 straight games, moving past Ozzie Newsome for the second-longest streak by a tight end in NFL history. Kelce continues to trail DeAndre Hopkins by two games for the longest active streak in the league.

KEY INJURIES

LT Terron Armstead (knee) is eligible to come off IR after practicing this week. OL Rob Hunt (hamstring), FS Brandon Jones (concussion), RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) and TE Durham Smythe (ankle) missed practice this week. Chiefs RB Jerick McKinnon (groin) and LB Willie Gay Jr. (bruised back) missed practice.

The Dolphins got All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey back last week, which is already a huge boost for Miami’s secondary, and it appears Xavien Howard is trending toward playing this week. Howard was limited in practice on Wednesday but told reporters he feels great and is ready to play.

If Howard does play Sunday, it would be the first time the Dolphins get to see Ramsey and Howard on the field together, something the two have been waiting for, along with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

“If we can get that done that would be good. That’s what we’ve been shooting for,” Fangio said Thursday. “We knew it was going to take awhile with Jalen’s injury, but through Jalen’s fast recovery and beating the odds, it’s happening earlier.”

SERIES NOTES

The Chiefs and Dolphins have only played 31 times despite the series going back to Nov. 13, 1966, the first season for expansion Miami in the AFL. The Chiefs won the first six matchups before the Dolphins dominated the 1980s. Kansas City has won the past three games, two on the road. Miami’s most recent win came on Nov. 6, 2011, at Arrowhead Stadium.

Dolphins lead the Chiefs 16-15 all time.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill named AFC Offensive Player of the Month https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/dolphins-wr-tyreek-hill-named-afc-offensive-player-of-the-month/3149393/ 3149393 post 9042261 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/11/GettyImages-1765360259.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 The NFL announced Thursday that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for his performance in October, marking a historic achievement for the team.

Hill is now the first non-quarterback for the Dolphins to win the award, and it marks the first time ever that the Dolphins have won back-to-back AFC Offensive Player of the Month awards.

Quarterback Tua Tagovailova received the award for his play in September.

Hill led the AFC with 602 receiving yards in October, which was 114 more than any other AFC player. His 16.7 yards per reception in the month was the highest of any AFC player with at least 20 receptions, while his four receiving touchdowns were tied for third in the conference.

Of Hill’s 36 receptions in October, 24 of them (66.7 pct.) converted first downs. He had three 100-yard games, including two 150-yard games in the month, and caught 3+ passes for 50+ yards in all five games.

Hill has a receiving touchdown in each of his past four games, which is tied for the longest streak in the NFL this season.

Last week, Hill became the first NFL player in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to break the 1,000 receiving yards mark in the eighth game of a season. His 1,014 receiving yards through eight games are fourth-most in NFL history.

It’s the first time Hill has won the award.

Miami is off to a 6-2 start for the first time since 2001 and will take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Frankfurt, Germany.

The game starts at 9 a.m. and can be seen on NBC6.

Tyreek Hill missed practice on Wednesday, out with hip injury https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/tyreek-hill-did-not-practice-on-wednesday-out-with-hip-injury/3142536/ 3142536 post 8773689 Megan Briggs/Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/07/web-230725-tyreek-hill-e1690283508316.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 The Miami Dolphins did not have Tyreek Hill during practice for the first time this season as the star wide receiver is out with a hip injury.

The Dolphins host the New England Patriots this Sunday and the team has been mum on whether Hill will be available for the game.

“It was a little weird not having someone like Tyreek out there,” Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said, “His leadership, his aura, but you know, it calls for other guys to step up in his room. You know, Jaylen, I think Jaylen had a really good practice today, said that he had a really good practice. A lot of guys had good practices today, especially being a Wednesday.”

The Dolphins were also without running back Raheem Mostert (ankle), safety Javon Holland (concussion), fullback Alec Ingold (foot), and guard Robert Jones (personal).

While Jaylen Waddle (back), wide receiver River Cracraft (shoulder), cornerback Xavien Howard (groin), cornerback Kader Kohou (neck), defensive back Nik Needham (Achilles), cornerback Jalen Ramsey (knee), cornerback Cam Smith (foot), and center Connor Williams (groin) were limited in practice.

Where Tyreek Hill stands in pursuit of 2,000 receiving yards in 2023 NFL season https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/miami-dolphins/tracking-tyreek-hills-pursuit-of-2000-receiving-yards-in-2023-nfl-season/3138900/ 3138900 post 9007072 Getty Images/USA TODAY Sports https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/10/image-20-4.png?fit=300,169&quality=85&strip=all Tyreek Hill made a bold claim ahead of the 2023 season.

The superstar Miami Dolphins wide receiver said he would be achieve a feat that no player in NFL history has ever done before: record 2,000 receiving yards in a season.

“I will break 2,000 yards next year, bro,” Hill said on his “It Needed To Be Said” podcast in July, via CBS Sports. “Two thousand yards was on my bucket list to get before I leave this league — 2,000 yards and another Super Bowl — and we getting that. Believe that.”

And Hill, who is coming off a career-best 1,710 yards last season, is certainly walking the walk in his chase for 2,000 yards.

The Cheetah opened the 2023 campaign with a monster 215-yard, two-touchdown performance in Miami’s victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He’s continued to post gaudy numbers since, racking up over 150 yards in four of the Dolphins’ first six games.

So, where does Hill stand in his pursuit of NFL history entering Miami’s Week 7 Sunday Night Football showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles?

How many receiving yards does Tyreek Hill have this season?

The 29-year-old Hill has recorded 42 receptions for an NFL-high 814 yards and six touchdowns through six games. Hill’s current average of 135.7 yards per game puts him on pace to finish with around an astounding 2,306 yards.

Has any receiver had 2,000 yards in a single season?

As previously mentioned, no player has ever reached the 2,000 yards receiving milestone.

Who holds the record for most receiving yards in a season?

Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson has come the closest of any player to 2,000 receiving yards. In 2012, Johnson posted 1,964 receiving yards over 16 games to break Jerry Rice’s single-season NFL record of 1,848 yards.

Los Angeles Rams wideout Cooper Kupp almost reached Megatron’s historic mark in 2021 when he finished with 1,947 yards over 17 games. That currently stands as the second-most receiving yards in a single season ever.

How many receiving yards did Calvin Johnson have in his career?

Johnson finished his nine-year career with 11,619 receiving yards. He ranks 33rd all time.

Who has the most receiving yards in NFL history?

Jerry Rice totaled 22,895 receiving yards in his 20-year Hall of Fame career, the most in NFL history. Rice is more than 5,000 yards ahead of the second-place Larry Fitzgerald, who tallied 17,492 yards, on the all-time leaderboard.

Who has most receiving yards in his first two NFL seasons?

Minnesota Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson began his NFL career in historic fashion. With 3,016 yards, Jefferson broke Odell Beckham Jr.’s previous record for the most receiving yards by a player over his first two seasons (2,755 yards).

Who has the most receiving yards in the first three seasons?

And Jefferson then crushed Randy Moss’ record for the most receiving yards by a player over his first three seasons. By the end of Jefferson’s third season in 2022, he had 4,825 yards compared to Moss’ 4,163.

Xavien Howard day-to-day after sustaining injury against Panthers, McDaniel confirms https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/xavien-howard-day-to-day-after-sustaining-injury-against-panthers-mcdaniel-confirms/3134485/ 3134485 post 8992679 NBC6 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/10/20231016_dolphins_Presser.00_00_35_15.Still001.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Mike McDaniel held his traditional Monday post-game press conference after his teams 41-21 victory over the Carolina Panthers at the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

While the main talking point is Tyreek Hill’s backflip video after scoring a 41-yard touchdown in the second quarter, McDaniel revealed that star corner Xavien Howard and running back Chris Brooks sustained injuries against the Panthers.

For Howard, the corner suffered a groin injury during the game and will be assessed with a day-to-day prognosis.

As for Brooks, the running back looks more week-to-week as his ankly injury has some swelling that is concerning the medical staff.

“I would say that X is more day to day, Chris, is more week to week. I would say. You know, there’s some some swelling that has to go down with Chris before we can totally get the timeline. The or the the rough estimation. And we’re going to see how how X calms down in response to treatment here,” McDaniel said.

McDaniel also spoke highly of the role Liam Eichenberg is doing filling in for Connor Williams who is also in a day-to-day situation as he recovers from a groin injury.

“So when you know, we could feel it during the week actually had guys mid play celebrating his decisive call and that manifests itself in the game in the game I thought his play he he blocked people well but he also did his part to help others block their guys as well with appropriate communication decisiveness,” McDaniel said.

The 5-1 Dolphins face a big test this week as they head to Philadelphia to take on the 5-1 Eagles, who themselves are also struggling with their secondary.

Tyreek Hill calls ‘nasty' Patriots fans ‘some of the worst in the NFL' https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/dolphins-tyreek-hill-patriots-fans-nasty-worst-nfl/553472/ 3114243 post 8916112 David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/09/Tyreek-Hill-USATSI_21446556.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 Tyreek Hill had a bone to pick with the Gillette Stadium crowd on Sunday night.

After the Miami Dolphins’ 24-17 road victory over the New England Patriots, Hill was asked a fairly innocuous question about how it felt beating his team’s division rival on the road.

The Dolphins wide receiver responded with some harsh words for Patriots fans.

“It felt tremendous, man,” Hill told reporters, via FOX Sports’ Henry McKenna. “Those fans are some of the worst fans in the NFL, and I’m gonna stand on that, because they’re real nasty.

“Some of the things that they were saying, I wouldn’t say in church. So yeah, it felt great to wave goodbye to the fans, and I’ll do it again. Bye!”

While Hill didn’t provide specifics about what fans said to him Sunday night, he’ll likely receive plenty of vitriol from Patriots supporters in response to these comments.

Hill caught a 2-yard touchdown pass in Sunday’s game, but New England’s defense otherwise held him relatively in check with five catches for 40 yards on nine targets. Hill now has failed to top 65 receiving yards in five of his last six games against the Patriots.

Hill and the Dolphins came away with the win Sunday night, however, and the Pro Bowl wideout felt the need to take a parting shot at Patriots fans on his way out of Foxboro.

Video shows alleged assault involving Dolphins' Tyreek Hill https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/video-shows-alleged-assault-involving-dolphins-tyreek-hill/3079661/ 3079661 post 8779470 Andy Slater https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/07/Video-shows-Tyreek-Hill-assault-at-Miami-marina.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 New video shows the alleged assault involving Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill as the wide receiver publicly addressed the incident for the first time Wednesday.

The surveillance video, first obtained by Andy Slater, shows the moment when Hill apparently slaps a man on the back of his head at a marina in Haulover Park.

“I just can’t make bonehead mistakes like that,” Hill said at Dolphins’ training camp Wednesday. “It’s been resolved and I hope everything gets situated.”

Earlier this week, Hill reached a settlement after the alleged victim decided not to press charges.

The incident happened back in June after police said an employee with Kelly Fishing Fleet told Hill and his group that they weren’t allowed to be on a boat.

A dispute occurred, during which Hill allegedly slapped the victim on the back of his neck.

‘I can buy you and the boat': More details released in Tyreek Hill alleged assault case https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/i-can-buy-you-and-the-boat-more-details-released-in-tyreek-hill-alleged-assault-case/3061683/ 3061683 post 8298607 https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/05/web-230311-tyreek-hill-getty-2.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 New details were released Tuesday in the alleged assault case involving Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill.

NBC6 obtained another incident report from Miami-Dade Police that further details the June 18 incident at a marina in Haulover Park.

According to the recently obtained report, the alleged victim, who works for Kelly Fishing Fleet, was working at the marina when he saw two men — one of them later identified as Hill — fishing on the dock for tarpon, which is illegal. Two women joined the men and went on a docked fishing vessel.

When the boat’s captain, identified as William Corbett, told the group they weren’t allowed on the boat, Hill allegedly told him, “I can buy you and the boat.”

Corbett then told Hill he couldn’t allow anyone on the boat who wasn’t a paying customer due to it being a liability, the report said.

The captain told police that Hill became enraged, started calling him several expletives and attempted to enter the boat but was held back.

While Hill was being restrained, Corbett said Hill slapped the victim on the back of his neck, the report said.

During the dispute, Hill allegedly stated, “I’m No. 10 from the Miami Dolphins.”

The victim said he later locked himself inside an office in fear. He said he was later told that Hill wanted to apologize, but he overheard the wide receiver telling his associate to pay him $200, the report said. The victim did not take the money.

The incident was captured on surveillance video, but the footage has not been released. A previous report stated the victim was willing to press charges. Prosecutors from the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office said they’ve received what appears to be the majority of the evidence in the case from police.

The Miami Dolphins said in an earlier statement that they were aware of the situation but wouldn’t comment further.

Victim willing to press charges against Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill in alleged assault, battery: Police https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/new-details-reveal-victim-is-willing-to-press-charges-against-dolphins-wr-tyreek-hill-in-alleged-assault-battery-police/3058339/ 3058339 post 7885357 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/03/Tyreek-Hill-USATSI19795640.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 The victim in an alleged assault involving Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is willing to press charges, according to a new Miami-Dade Police report that details the incident.

Although the incident report released by police on Wednesday does not name Hill or the alleged victim, officers described the incident as an argument that turned physical the evening of June 18.

According to the report, the alleged victim, who works for Kelly Fishing Fleet, was working on a charter boat at the marina in Haulover Park when he noticed two women on a fishing charter boat without permission.

The alleged victim said that while he was telling the women to get off the boat, an argument broke out between employees and the group the women were with.

During the argument the victim said he was slapped on the back of his neck by a man, believed to be Hill.

The report said the man was pushed away from the victim by a member of his group before he charged at the victim and had to be restrained by several members of his group.

The report said the incident was captured on surveillance video, but footage has not been released.

When police were called the next day, the victim didn’t have any visible injuries, the report said.

The word “YES” is typed on a section of the report that asks “will the victim prefer charges?”

Police said Tuesday that they were investigating the allegations against Hill, but so far, no charges have been filed.

“We are aware of the situation and have been in contact with Tyreek, his representatives and the NFL. We will reserve further comment at this time,” a Dolphins spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday.

Hill, 29, was a fifth-round pick of the Kansas City Chiefs in 2016 and won a Super Bowl with the team in 2020.

The Chiefs traded Hill to Miami last year, and the Dolphins gave the three-time All-Pro a $120 million, four-year contract extension that made Hill the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. He caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022.

‘I'm Going to Call it Quits': Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill Says He Will Retire After Current Contract Expires https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/sports/im-going-to-call-it-quits-miami-dolphins-wr-tyreek-hill-says-he-will-retire-after-current-contract-expires/3009589/ 3009589 post 7885357 Getty Images https://media.nbcmiami.com/2023/03/Tyreek-Hill-USATSI19795640.jpg?quality=85&strip=all&fit=300,169 If the Miami Dolphins want to win a Super Bowl while wide receiver Tyreek Hill is on the roster, they now have a timetable for how much longer they have left.

NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalk reports the 29-year-old Hill, who has been in the NFL for the last seven seasons, says he intends to retire after his current contract expires.

“I’m going for 10, man,” Hill said during a podcast in Kansas City, where he played his first six seasons with the Chiefs. “I’m going to finish out this contract with the Dolphins, man, and then I’m going to call it quits. I want to go into the business side. I want to do so many things in my life, bro.”

Hill earned his fourth All-Pro honor last season while also having career highs in catches (119) and receiving yards (1,710). He says he would like to coach for a little while before moving into the world of gaming.

“So, I really want to get into like the gaming space,” Hill said. “I really want to get huge in that and that’s kind of what I’m doing right now. I’m using my platform, creating a gaming team [Soul Runner Gaming], which isn’t launched yet. It should launch by the end of this month. I’m going to just sign like different content creators, different athletes. I’ve just been working that, talking to different sponsors.”

Hill is due $1.165 million in base salary this season and a $19.55 million base salary in 2024. He has four years left on his current contract, but only two have guaranteed money.
